So Much to Say

Believe it or not, I've been trying to blog for weeks.  Sadly, it's been that long since I've actually been on a computer and my phone won't let me blog for some reason.

The family has been enjoying nice weekends at the lake, including a long 5-day weekend after Grandpa Johnson's memorial service.  Eli's been out on the boat twice now and does pretty great out there.

Beautiful sunset over Mark Twain Lake
We also bought a new "Umi Zoomi" van (as Ella calls it), or a swagger wagon as I describe it.

It's a 2008 Chryseler Town & Country.  I had to trade in the old "EZ CRZN," with my awesome "I used to be cool" bumper sticker.  I LOVE it though.  I think that it looks more like an SUV than a minivan.  Even better, it has all kinds of fun gadgets like automatic doors and remote start.  Best of all, it has a back-up camera so I can be absolutely sure that I'm not going to run over a bicycle or small child in the blind spot.  As I said, I LOVE it!

Here are some updated pictures of the little man.  He's getting so big!

Okay, I guess that's all for now.  It's what we've been up to lately.  Hopefully I'll be able to get back to my computer faster; that way I can avoid my 150 unread emails and I can update the blog more often.  I guess you never know now that there's two kiddos in the house though.  Until next time....

Weekend Update...on Monday Afternoon

On Friday morning, I told Nick that I had to get out of the house.  Ella & I couldn't take it anymore.  I said that a long drive and a stop at an ice cream stand would work, even going to someone's house would be nice.  Concerned that "germs are everywhere," Nick vetoed my plans....so I announced that we were going to the camper for the weekend.  It was wonderful to get out of the house and still spend time together as a family!  Eli had the cutest outfits to camp in, thanks to some work friends.  Seen here is the "Jumping for Joy Hoppy Campers" outfit, but he also had a "dream boat" outfit he wore too.

Today Eli had his 2-week dr. appt. and the whole family went for the occasion.  I told Ella she needed to be a good big sister and pat Eli and tell him "It's okay," if he got scared.  "But I don't want the drs to BITE him!"  What?!  Does she think that they are biting her when they give her shots or something?  I spend most of the time laughing in every conversation with her. :)

Eli is looking great.  His cheeks are getting bigger, nearly the size of Ella's when she was born! He's in the 80% for height and 40% for weight.  At first, I was surprised that my seemingly hefty child was in the bottom 40% for weight, but then I remembered that Ella was always in the bottom 5% and I felt better.

Possbily the best news of the day: Today I mustered up the courage to step on the scale, preparing to be disappointed.  I told myself that as long as I was less than I was at delivery, I'd be okay with it.....I'm down to 1/2 lb more than I was when I got pregnant!  Ecstatic by this news, I tried on a pair of my jeans, AND THEY FIT!!!  I'll be honest, it feels good, even if every body part is proportioned a little differently than before.  I am on cloud 9. :)

ewww....gross

Disclaimer: This post is totally disgusting.....

Yesterday for the first time, Eli went to the bathroom WHILE I was changing his diaper.  That was already the 2nd outfit I put on him.  So outfit #3 wasn't ideal by any means, but it fit.  It's a newborn set of pajamas that are a 3-piece set instead of a sleeper.  "Okay, we'll just be careful with his belly button," I thought.  "He'll be swaddled nearly the whole time anyway."  I'm so smug in my head....such a know-it-all.
Today after feeding him, I moved him up to be burped.  The remnants of his umbilical cord caught on my shirt and CAME OFF RIGHT ON ME!!!!   G-ross!

I started squealing, and Nick rushed to help me.  He just laughed and said, "I guess you want me to take it off of you?"  Ummm...yeah, that's exactly what I want.  Now I have a sick stain on my favorite Elk Fork Campground t-shirt. :(

If only I had thought to take a picture of this experience.....

Baby Friends

On Tuesday, Lindsay and Nikki came over to visit, toting their little ones as well.  On the left is Piper (1 month), Ashlyn (3 months), and Eli (1 week...almost).  We had fun catching up and talking.  I <3 my friends. :)
